LITTLE GIRL LOST
A TRIBUTE TO HEATHER O'ROURKE (1975-1988)

Her life,
A fairy-tale mirror
Baby-blue eyes,
Long, straight, ghost-blond hair
Like Alice in Wonderland
As Carol Anne she spellbound
Poltergeist critics, fans alike
Her innocence, terror
Compelled belief
"They'rrre here,"
Her eerie delivery chilled bones
Television stints, Poltergeist sequels
Performed to perfection
Her family's trailer: home of the past
A luxury apartment: the family's present
Heaven: Heather's future
Tragedy landed
One February morning
The 12-year-old collapsed
Crossed over into The Light
"I love you,"
The last exchange between mother and daughter
Angelic,
Gifted,
Claim agents
Talent frozen
Unable to blossom

POEM BY RICHARDH

Golden Hair and eyes of blue,
a smile that shined the whole day through
Laughter that touched the hearts of all
from big to little and short to tall
no one knew that the world would stop
and all would cry the day you smiled
For the very last time,
Our hearts grew weak our minds grew humble
as we heard the news
of a Precious child taken far to soon
Like a beautiful day you went away leaving our heats in terrible pain....
Even though you are now gone
your talent and smile will always live on.
The hearts you touched and the ones you still do
Where ever you are just know this is true,
you live on in our heats and we will never forget you.

POEM BY SWEETGIRL

"SOMETIMES..."

sometimes, sweet pea,
i see you in my dreams,
and i think about what was...
not long ago, it seems,
your smiling little face
was all that i recall,
when i remember the day
that you went away...
sometimes, sweet pea,
looking up to blue skies,
i see your eyes...
and at sunset, in a golden cloud,
i see your hair and i say out loud:
"sweet pea, are you there?
would you come back
for just a little while...
and smile"?
